Tai Ji works to improve muscular strength, flexibility and fitness. Muscle strength is important for supporting and protecting joints and is essential for normal physical function. Flexibility exercises enable people to move easier, and facilitate circulation of body fluid and blood, which enhance healing. Fitness is important for overall functioning of the heart, lungs, and muscles. In addition to these components, Tai jimovements emphasize the importance of weight transference, which helps balance and prevents injuries.

Tai-ji quan and Qi gong (Nei Jia Gong) will help you relax in order to quiet down and open your mind to your inner energy. You will learn to focus, be aware of your surroundings and charge up your stamina for the rest of the day.

The practice of the basic exercises and routines of Shaolin forms (Wai jia gong) are effective methods for improving the pliability of the joints and the suppleness of the back and legs. The generation of energy, the jumping and leaping and the changes from one stance to another, all help enhance human strength and speed of movement. kung Fu, therefore, can be taken as the basic exercise for other sporting activities. Shaolin style builds moral character, promotes excellent circulation, strengthens the body, creates the limbs coordination, increases agility of the mind and the body, and trains Wushu skills to such a degree that victories can be gained in all forms of conflicts.
